Don Justice Cabinetmakers

Designer and Builders of Custom Cabinetry

After you have visited our portfolio section, you may be ready to start your own project.  The first step is to call or email and setup an appointment for a site meeting at your home or office.

At this meeting, we will review your specifications and decide on where the cabinet work will be needed.  In addition, field measurements are taken and we discuss what functions the cabinetry will perform to meet your needs.  We will also discuss finishes for the project: stained, painted or plastic laminate.  Depending on the size of the project, this initial meeting usually takes no more than an hour.

At this point, the information gathered will be taken back to the shop, where it will be transferred to the drafting board.  An estimate will then be performed and a proposal developed.  The proposal outlines what we will build, what type of materials will be used, and when it will be ready for installation.  Additionally, the proposal will include the terms for the project.  We require 50% up front when signing the contract, and the balance due upon installation and completion of work.  Some may feel that 50% is excessive for a deposit.  Let me say that 95% of the your job is completed before it leaves our shop and only the installation process is left to be completed.  Before construction, we will have a second meeting to present and explain your plan and make any final additions or corrections. You may decide at this time to go ahead with the project.

However, you may want to get a second opinion.  If you prefer to purchase the plans, a $75-150.00 payment will required to keep the plans and the estimate.  If you decide to continue with our services, the payment will be applied to your project.  If you do not like our plan or price, there is no obligation.
